Backstory

Born YT-747, Yan was raised among the industrial hum of Mining Platform 13557, nested within a Deuterium Rich Nebula in the Fat system. Though the station buzzed with potential, Yan's attention often wavered from the structured learning of his station-bound youth. Preferring mischief over module studies, his actions frequently led to lost time modules and misplaced mining tools. As Yan entered his teenage years, he felt the walls of the station closing in. Once assigned the role of Sanitation Specialist on his 18th birthday, Yan realized the station life couldn't quench his thirst for adventure. Unwilling to confine himself to the metallic confines of a futureless routine, he embarked on a daring escape. Secretly boarding Cargo Freighter BF-983, Yan left the nebula's protective embrace, driven by a keen yearning to explore the unknown. Since abandoning his assigned role and the name YT-747, Yan has assumed his new identity as "Yan Itor," embracing every outlandish encounter the vast cosmos had to offer. Over the last two years, Yan has visited several planets across the Sundered Spiral, determined to discover his place within the galaxy's ever-turning wheel of fortune.

While on Merristine, Yan offered to help the insurgency with a plan to strike back against the Red Sun Dominion. Although his efforts simultaneously created the distraction needed for the insurgents to enact their plan and managed shut down one of the Red Sun's most prolific osmium mines, a stray rocket caused a guard tower to collapse, crushing and killing Yan during the skirmish.
