Backstory

Chaz Pompadou once lived among the elite engineers on the bustling colony of Verohka, adept at Spike Drive technology. The Sundering decimated his life plans, tearing his family and career asunder. He remains on Vernokha working modest repair jobs while nurturing a deep-rooted guilt connected to the malfunction of a prototype Spike Drive he'd been developing. Chaz's left arm was lost during the catastrophic failure of the device, a constant reminder of his perceived culpability.

His sentimentality draws him to items and places reminiscent of Terran traditions, although the outer reaches afford him little refuge.

Later, during one of the Red Sun Dominion’s harvests, he was swept up and transported to the Don system to work in the labor camps, marking a dramatic turn in his life. Despite the hardships, Chaz remains healthy, his indomitable spirit a testament to his resilience.
