Backstory

Publicly, Seraphina is known as a prodigy of the trade guilds, a skilled arcane technician who enlisted to serve the realm and elevate her station. She often boasts of a comfortable, problem-free upbringing, positioning herself as an aspiring member of the upper crust, seeking the prestige of a military title. In truth, her past is charred by tragedy. Her family were humble clockmakers who perished in a mysterious, magical fire that consumed their workshop. She survived due to her reckless curiosity—having snuck out to watch unauthorized airship races. Now, she utilizes her skills as a 'mechanic' of magical conduits and a 'pilot' of experimental gliders to serve the army, all while secretly investigating the source of the arcane flame that destroyed her home. Her reckless nature in battle is driven by a desperate need to find answers, pushing into dangerous territory to recover magical artifacts that might hold a clue.

Description

A young woman of striking intensity, standing at 5'6" with soot-stained, olive skin and hair the color of burnt umber, often tied back in a utilitarian braid woven with copper wire. Her eyes are a piercing amber, constantly darting as if analyzing the structural integrity of everything around her. She wears worn, heavy leather armor reinforced with steel plates, battered from service but meticulously maintained. A distinctive burn scar travels up her left arm, partially hidden by an intricate, glowing rune tattoo—the Mark of her Oath to the Arcanist Corps. She moves with measured steps, the weight of her heavy tool belt and boots grounding her otherwise fiery energy.
