When the cataclysmic Sundering collapsed the galaxy's jump gates, the isolated colonists of Furyan found themselves cut off from the wider cosmos. Over the centuries of silence that followed, they began fermenting the Lithomyces-derived slurry. This process transformed the basic nutrient into a harsh, enduring spirit, birthing the potent beverage now known as Rock Ale.

In the current era, the expansionist Red Sun Dominion annexed the Furyan sector. Recognizing the spirit's utility, the Dominion quickly industrialized Rock Ale's production. It became valued as a high-calorie, potent pacifier for their vast working class.

Massive bio-vats were established across Furyan, churning out millions of liters of the brew annually. The Trade Constellation was then tasked with the logistics of shipping crates of Rock Ale across Sector 36. However, they frequently lodged complaints about the beverage's corrosive nature, which notoriously ate through standard shipping seals.

This ubiquitous common drink also became a point of contention with the Mortal Veil pirates.
