Following this disaster, the nascent Red Sun Dominion sealed off the mines entirely, leaving the Mole Mk IV units abandoned and forgotten.

For centuries, these durable tools lay hidden beneath millions of tons of rock, silent witnesses to the tragedy that entombed them. They rested amongst the very bones of the trapped workers who had tried in vain to dig themselves out. Over time, a shantytown known as The Tangle rose directly on the debris of this ancient disaster.
