The Tech (Very Rare): A Chronological History of the Ocular Implant

Ancient Era (Pre-Sundering Terran Empire): The ocular implant was originally created as a relic from the pre-Sundering Terran Empire. Far from a simple device, it was engineered as a localized quantum probability engine, designed to simulate millions of immediate future outcomes per second. This remarkable capability effectively granted its user combat precognition.

Unknown Date (Discovery & Annexation): For untold ages, the implant lay dormant, eventually unearthed from the cryo-stasis vaults of Gelime, the Sanctuary of the Mind. When the Red Sun Dominion annexed the system, they converted the sacred archives of Sector 7-G into a bio-acid weapons lab. During this process, the ancient device was re-discovered and cataloged.

Dominion Research (Pre-Collapse): Dominion researchers classified the implant as "Maltech," mistakenly believing it to be a tactical targeting computer. They slated it for reverse engineering, unaware of its true, vastly more sophisticated purpose. The device was likely assigned to a lead scientist for study within Sector 7-G.

Late 2997 (The Weeping Silo Collapse): Approximately six months prior to April 18, 2998, Sector 7-G, now infamously known as The Weeping Silo, suffered a catastrophic seismic collapse. The entire facility was destroyed in the event. Whispers among the Null Hypothesis resistance suggest the lead scientist assigned to the implant didn't die from the subsequent cold, but from the immense neural load of the device, desperately trying to predict the facility's impending doom.

Late 2997 (Salvage & Black Market Entry): In the chaotic aftermath of the collapse, the unique ocular implant was reportedly salvaged from the frozen corpse of the aforementioned lead scientist. It quickly surfaced on the illicit black market.

18 April 2998 (Current Status): As of this date, the rare ocular implant remains in circulation on the black market, currently listed as stolen. It is highly coveted by the Mortal Veil, who recognize its potential to outmaneuver Dominion fleets. The device's future, and the extent of its influence, remain uncertain.
