The Aegis Prime, a colossal orbital drydock, was commissioned in 3150 CE. Designed as a critical forward logistics anchor for the burgeoning Terran Empire, it possessed the unique capability to service massive Tier 5 Spike Drive vessels. This technological marvel was strategically positioned in the Felo system, maintaining a stable orbit around the gas giant Luar.

For fifty years, Aegis Prime served as a vital hub, maintaining and repairing the largest ships traversing the stars. Its advanced gravitational systems were a testament to pre-Sundering engineering prowess, yet this very sophistication would prove to be its undoing.

In 3200 CE, disaster struck when the cataclysmic event known as the Sundering ravaged the galaxy. At that precise moment, the Aegis Prime was undergoing a high-energy gravitational calibration test. The metadimensional shockwave unleashed by the Sundering interacted catastrophically with the station's active grav plates.

The instantaneous overload shattered the colossal superstructure, tearing Aegis Prime apart in a horrifying flash of energy. Yet, the devastation did not end there; the station's active, failing grav plates, combined with the Sundering's lingering energies, created a chaotic localized distortion field. This field instantly froze the shattered debris in place, preventing it from drifting away.

For a millennium, the wreckage of Aegis Prime has remained trapped in this violent, self-contained orbit. Its shattered grav plates continue to pulse randomly, albeit partially, causing massive slabs of durasteel to accelerate, stop, and collide with terrifying unpredictability. This constant, brutal ballet of destruction has earned it a fearsome reputation.

To the locals of Palloma, it is known as a cursed zone, a silent grinder of metal and history. The Trade Constellation has officially marked the Aegis Prime as a fatal navigation hazard, warning all vessels to steer clear of its deadly embrace.

Despite the evident danger, rumors persist among fringe explorers and scavengers. Whispers suggest that the station's central vault, hardened against even phase shifts, might remain intact. If true, it could potentially hold pristine pre-Sundering technology or, even more incredibly, a functional Tier 5 drive core.

Currently, the Aegis Prime remains an extremely hazardous location. It is a chaotic minefield of kinetic energy and high voltage discharge.
