The Alciphe Star System: A Chronological History
The Golden Age (Pre-Sundering Era) Before the galaxy-wide cataclysm known as the Sundering, Alciphe flourished as the crown jewel of Sector 36. It represented a Tier 6 civilization, a beacon of achievement in both bio-engineering and dimensional physics. Its four planets were home to advanced societies, powered by sophisticated energy grids and sustained by intricate terraforming technology.
The Sundering's Wrath (Undated Cataclysm) The Sundering brought about a swift and devastating collapse for Alciphe. Its advanced infrastructure failed instantaneously and catastrophically, plunging the entire system into ruin. The once vibrant planets were ravaged, their carefully maintained environments destroyed.
A Millennium of Silence (Post-Sundering to Rediscovery) For nearly a millennium after the Sundering, Alciphe remained a desolate ghost system. Three of its worlds – Hephaest, Virens, and Mnemosyne – became lethal Tomb Worlds, their ecosystems warped by deadly mutations. On the fourth planet, Othrys, a segment of the human population survived.
Cut off from their advanced neural networks and automated sustenance, the Othrysian humans de-evolved. They fractured into tribal warlord societies, resorting to hunting and gathering and warring with primitive spears and arrows amidst the towering ruins of their ancestors.
Rediscovery by the Red Sun Dominion (Pre-28 January 2750) Not long after the Red Sun Dominion began its aggressive expansion into Sector 36, the ancient Alciphe system was rediscovered. Recognizing its untapped potential in maltech and pre-Sundering artifacts, the Dominion swiftly moved to assert its claim.
Establishment of Red Sun Dominion Control (28 January 2750) On January 28, 2750, the Red Sun Dominion formally established its presence and total ownership over the Alciphe system. A comprehensive blockade was immediately implemented to deter scavengers and secure Dominion interests. This marked the beginning of a new, exploitative era for Alciphe.
The Era of Exploitation (Post-2750 to Present) Today, Alciphe remains firmly under the control of the Red Sun Dominion, classified as an Occupied and Exploited system. The Dominion maintains its blockade while actively strip-mining the dangerous Tomb Worlds of Hephaest, Virens, and Mnemosyne for valuable Maltech and ancient artifacts.
The indigenous population of Othrys is largely ignored, often treated as local fauna by the Dominion forces. However, they are occasionally rounded up and forced into dangerous labor within the excavation sites of the Tomb Worlds, a brutal practice that mirrors the harsh treatments observed in the Don System.
