Backstory

Marcus, coming from the rough streets of Gilead, was an orphan who learned adaptability and disloyalty as means for survival. A curious spirit, he found solace in books, particularly the one he discovered in the hidden cellar of an old, abandoned house; a magical grimoire written by a forgotten archmage centuries ago. The text was a roadmap to an unfathomable power source known as The Waker's Crystal. The grimoire revealed that the Crystal has the potential to rewrite the fabric of reality, thus making the possessor immensely powerful. Marcus' goal becomes to find this Crystal, driven by a dream of strong influence to shape a world where no one else would have to grow up the way he did. Yet, Marcus must conceal his secret as the Crystal also awakens the Feral Wraiths; creatures of chaos once defeated by the archmage. Thus, his tavern, 'The Wandering Owl', not only works as a facade for his acquisitive journeys but also as a gathering spot for rumours and tales of the Crystal's location.
