Backstory

Mephis grew up in the bustling trade city of Arkwright. From a young age, he was known as the city’s impish troublemaker, always getting into and out of scrapes by the skin of his teeth. His logical mind and sneaky nature made him a natural at avoiding capture, and his silly antics endeared him to many of the city's denizens. As he matured, his antics caught the eye of the city guard, who saw potential in his skills. He was offered a position, much to the surprise of many who thought him too much of a prankster. Over time, Mephis proved his worth, using his wit and cunning to outsmart many a criminal. However, beneath his playful demeanor lies a dark secret. Mephis was once part of a thieves' guild,  known for their ruthlessness. He managed to extricate himself from their clutches, but not before acquiring deep scars – both physical and emotional. His primary goal now is to protect his new life and sever any remaining ties to that sinister past. He fears that his former allies may come looking to drag him back into their world.
