Within the deceptive serenity of the large village of Somania, nestled amidst Coia's tumultuous lands, lies a chapel known for its benevolence and spiritual guidance. Yet, unbeknownst to its inhabitants and many a weary traveller seeking solace within its walls, the chapel houses a closely guarded secret that intertwines the very fate of Coia with the ethereal realms. Pastor Shawn, born into this enigma, was not always the pious shepherd of souls she portrays. Her journey to priesthood was fraught with peculiar happenstance and whimsical folly, characteristic of her innate silliness and stubborn resolve. From a tender age, Shawn found herself inexplicably drawn to the chapel, often skirting her duties to explore its ancient corridors and hidden crypts. It was during one such escapade that she stumbled upon the sealed passage leading to a corrupted Stone Gateway beneath the chapel. The revelation was profound; the Gateway not only linked Coia to other planes but also siphoned the life force of those within the chapel's vicinity. Driven by this unearthly discovery and her practical nature, Shawn took up the mantle of a pastor, intent on shielding this sinister secret from malevolent forces and adventurers alike, who might seek to exploit it. Her goal: to mend the Gateway and sever its parasitic hold on Coia. However, her path is far from simple. The corrupted Gateway's allure to extra-planar entities leaves the chapel and Somania vulnerable to incursions. Moreover, Shawn must balance her duties as a pastor with her clandestine efforts to research ancient rituals and gather the necessary components for the Gateway's restoration, all while maintaining the affable facade of Somania's spiritual guide.
