Backstory

Soren Nightshade has roamed countless realms for nearly a millennium, a wandering merchant with a reputation for humor and clever tricks. Born in Ironside, in the shadow of the Iron Mountain, he left his desolate home early on to seek adventure.

His travels brought him to various regions, where he became known not only for his unusual goods but also for his shrewd dealings. Soren is opportunistic but not entirely without honor; he values favors and trades and won't double-cross others outright, but he will exploit any weakness he sees. Over the centuries, he has built a vast network of contacts, ranging from shady characters in dark alleys to noble aristocrats seeking rare artifacts.

During an unlucky encounter, Soren's precious ruby amulet was stolen by Carmine, a master thief. This amulet holds great personal value, and he believes Carmine's possession of it is an insult that must be rectified.
