Backstory
Growing up in the haunted ruins of Hausa Village, Matthew Sefton was the orphaned child of a couple lost to one of the village's strange mishaps. Taken in by an ancient caretaker known only as the Village Scribe, his young mind absorbed arcane secrets embedded in the tattered pages of Elias Malkuth's journals hidden within the abandoned Malkuth Manor. Rather than seek vengeance for his tragic past, Matthew harbored a sense of solidarity with the ruined village, determined to help lost souls and fortune-seekers maneuver through the occult-laden dangers to find peace or escape. Matthew has since genuinely become a keeper of secrets, but few realize his capacity or compassion as they dismiss him as merely an odd soul on the outskirts.
Description
Matthew Sefton is a wiry young man with weathered tan skin, tousled brown hair, and piercing green eyes that reflect wisdom beyond his years. He is dressed in a mismatched, tattered assortment of clothes typical of someone who forages for survival, with a loose-fitting olive-green jacket draped over a patched shirt and worn-out boots. His hands show signs of self-taught craftsmanship, marked by calluses and small scars. A sense of gentle strength emanates from him, contrasting the whisper-filled, haunted surroundings of Hausa Village.
