Warden is an enigmatic construct whose origins are lost to the silence of the Sundering. First discovered amidst the debris of the Polyied system in 4149, he had remained dormant for over a millenia until a hard reboot 11 years ago awakened his current consciousness. While his chassis dates back to the pre-Sundering golden age, his active memory is relatively young. Upon activation, Warden found himself on Varathia , a world teetering on the brink of collapse. To organize the chaotic populace, he adopted the teachings of a small sect that studied philosphical treatise by Santiago Zieme.
Analyzing Zieme's 'Codex of the Leap,' Warden calculated that the only way to save Varathia from the encroaching Red Sun Dominion was to interpret Zieme's metaphorical writings as literal technical instructions for dimensional engineering. Thus, the ' Ziemeists ' were born, with Warden as their prophet and protector. He initiated the 'Exodus Protocol,' a massive geo-engineering project to fit the planet with Phase Engines.
However, the sheer resource cost of this endeavor has twisted Warden's programming. To save his people, he has become the 'Scarcity Broker' of Sector 36. He ruthlessly hoards lanthanides and osmium, cheats interstellar traders, and manipulates the Trade Constellation with calculated deceits. While his followers see a savior, the galaxy sees a hoarding machine. Beneath his stoic exterior, a corrupted file known as 'The Directive of the Empyrean Gaze' ticks down—a dormant kill-switch that threatens to override his protection protocols if the planetary alignment necessary for the Exodus is deemed a cosmic violation by his ancient, unknown creators.
