Backstory

Coltrane has been a fixture on the roads and in the taverns of Coia for the better part of three decades. Hailing from a small, forgotten village near the shadow of the Iron Mountain, he left home at a young age with nothing but a lute and a sharp wit. He quickly learned that his talent for music and mimicry could earn him a hot meal and a warm bed. Over the years, he has cultivated a reputation as a master entertainer, his performances a dazzling mix of epic ballads, comedic dances, and scathing political satire that has earned him both admirers in the common folk and enemies among the thin-skinned nobility. He travels from town to town, a whirlwind of color and song, always claiming to be searching for the 'ultimate story' to immortalize in an epic ballad. His generosity is well-known; he is just as likely to spend his earnings on a round of drinks for an entire tavern as he is to save it for himself, often leaving towns with less coin than he had when he arrived.
