Backstory

Oliver Coursdrag is an anomaly among his kind. He was raised not in a war camp, but in a secluded enclave of Orc scholars dedicated to preserving the knowledge of the world before the Shadow War. From a young age, he was trained to be a living library, his mind honed to recall ancient histories and his body conditioned to protect the lore he carried. He was destined to be a guardian of forgotten truths, an "idea worker" in the most literal sense.

His life's purpose was violently derailed when he learned that his childhood friend, a brilliant human engineer named Ruby, had been afflicted by a mysterious curse that transformed him into a dog. Wracked with guilt and a sense of responsibility, Oliver left his enclave, an act unheard of for one so young. He now seeks out any information that could lead to a cure. His quest recently led him to rumors of a gifted, if eccentric, crew aboard an airship called the Azure Marie—a crew that supposedly includes a talking dog named Ruby Snuggles. He hopes to find his old friend and believes the strange magical phenomena now sweeping Coia, particularly the reactivation of the Bukhara Spire Gateways, might hold the key to reversing the curse.

Description

A full-body portrait of a 28-year-old male Orc Barbarian, Oliver Coursdrag. He stands with the posture of a scholar, straight-backed and composed, a stark contrast to his powerful, muscular build. His skin is a deep forest green, and his dark hair is tied back in a neat, functional topknot. His face is serious and intelligent, with piercing yellow eyes and smaller-than-average tusks. He wears practical, dark leather armor over a simple linen tunic, the leather subtly tooled with esoteric runes and symbols. A massive, well-oiled great-axe is strapped to his back, but he also carries a heavy, leather-bound tome on a satchel at his hip, its pages filled with meticulous, hand-written notes. The background is a misty, mountainous landscape.
