Backstory
Cawk Gorlinpecker was once a prodigy among her flock, a druidic priest with a connection to the sky spirits that was the envy of her elders. Dripping with ambition and pride, she attempted a perilous ritual to commune directly with a primordial sky-titan, seeking power far beyond her station. The ritual failed catastrophically. The backlash of uncontrolled magic did not harm her physically, but it scoured the spiritual landscape, killing her mentor and severing her flock's connection to the spirits they revered. This became the first and largest entry in her graveyard of personal failures. Exiled in shame, her pride curdled into an iron will, and her ambition became a burning obsession. She now sees the chaotic state of magic in Coia, particularly the surge from the Iron Mountain, not as a threat, but as the ultimate opportunity. She believes that by taming this raw, wild power, she can forge a new connection, one of force and dominance, and finally achieve the power she craves, redeeming her past by burying it under a mountain of success.
Description
A tall, lean Aarakocra with feathers the color of a stormy sky, shot through with startling, rust-colored streaks along her wings and crest, a permanent reminder of her failed ritual. Her eyes are a piercing, intelligent gold, set in a sharp, hawkish face that rarely shows emotion beyond disdainful focus. Her talons are meticulously clean but scarred from years of harsh survival. She wears simple, wind-tattered grey vestments adorned with an array of hollow metal bells that clack silently as she moves, symbols of her spiritual emptiness. A single, large, rust-red feather is braided into her crest, pulsing with a faint, almost imperceptible chaotic energy.
