Vespera was founded in the chaotic aftermath of a five-century Civil War, a period when the Bukhara Spire Gateways had been corrupted. The world below was a place of constant conflict and monstrous invasions, leaving a landscape of despair.
A small, desperate collective of refugees, primarily Orc, Human, Elf, Dwarf, Gnome, and Halfling families, had lost everything to these protracted wars. They sought a sanctuary far from the ravaged earth, a place of peace and safety.
Pooling their meager resources and knowledge, these survivors located a small, defunct spire. They meticulously mined its glowing crystals, harnessing their inherent power.
Using a remarkable combination of Dwarven engineering, Elven elemental magic, and Gnomish ingenuity, they constructed a floating haven. They bound a massive slab of earth and rock with the spire crystals, raising it into the heavens.
There, Vespera was hidden amongst the clouds, deliberately cut off from the turmoil of the world below. It became a powerful symbol of their resilience and enduring desire for peace.
This simple, agrarian community's existence became a secret, passed down through generations. To this day, Vespera's inhabitants have never set foot on solid ground.
