On 07 June 2689, the planet Memosyne was officially founded. It swiftly became the Cold Storage capital of Sector 36, a world meticulously terraformed and dedicated entirely to server farms and data banking. For the pre-collapse mega-corporation Omni Stellar, Memosyne's massive crystalline spires, grown from programmable matter, stored yottabytes of galactic history. These spires also housed crucial financial records and proprietary schematics.

This era of unparalleled data storage continued until 3200 CE, when the catastrophic event known as the Sundering struck the galaxy. The exotic matter cooling systems, designed to keep Memosyne's vast servers at optimal temperatures, malfunctioned catastrophically. This initiated a runaway feedback loop that rapidly escalated beyond control.

Within days, Memosyne was flash-frozen, its atmosphere transforming into a swirling vortex of nitrogen ice and diamond dust. None of the planet's population survived the sudden change. Millions of IT technicians, corporate liaisons, and service droids were frozen instantly in their tracks, preserved as statues of rime and regret, and the planet was abandoned.

For a millennium, Memosyne spun in silent orbit, a tomb of frozen knowledge. Recently, however, the Red Sun Dominion rediscovered the system. Recognizing the immense potential to recover lost Golden Age blueprints and acquire blackmail material on rival factions, they moved to exploit it. The Dominion established a brutal orbital blockade and commenced a surface extraction operation.

However, the planet actively resists these new occupants. The dead systems are waking up, and the frozen data is proving to be corrupt, dangerous, and perhaps even semi-sentient. Memosyne's current status remains Stagnant Under Occupation, its mysteries still largely intact beneath the ice.
