In the chaotic depths of the Void, the Vrock emerged—demons drawn to Coia by the residual energies emanating from the Bukhara Spire Gateways. Historically, the Vrock were a fearsome element of the infernal armies during the tumultuous Shadow War, a time when darkness sought to engulf the land. However, one particular Vrock diverged from this path, driven by a unique and enigmatic agenda that led it on a quest to uncover something shrouded in mystery within the ruins of the corrupted gateways.
On the fateful days of June 15th and 16th, 1248, this Vrock encountered a party of adventurers while they made their way through a dense forest. The party was conducted by Nym and encompassed various characters, including the resourceful Retta. In the thick of their exploration, they inadvertently disturbed the territory of aggressive forest creatures, including members of the Vrock kin, Will-o’-Wisps, and Wood Woads. The confrontation became a battle for survival as Nym fell prey to fear, paralyzed momentarily by the encounter.
Retta, quick to react under pressure, unleashed flames that swept through the forest, creating a barrier against their assailants. Meanwhile, the party bard transformed into a giant ape, providing an unexpected advantage amidst chaos where many of their companions struggled. Despite moments of incapacitation and overwhelming odds against them, the adventurers outmatched the hostile creatures through teamwork and sheer determination, eventually overpowering them and continuing on their journey into the unknown.
With the ruins of the corrupted gateways still echoing the ancient whispers of the past, the Vrock’s path remained entwined with that of the adventurers. In the aftermath of the battle, the party earned a modest reward of 560 gold coins and a bag of magic beans, remnants of their struggle against fate. Yet, for this Vrock—whose story is yet unresolved—the drive to uncover its hidden truth was reignited, intertwining its destiny with the untold secrets that lie within the darkness of the forest and beyond.
