Their ultimate goal was to gain ultimate power through a grand ritual.

However, their ambitious ritual catastrophically backfired, tearing open a rift not to a plane of magic, but to a lightless abyss. The sorcerers were consumed, their individual forms and identities violently stripped away. Their souls were fused together into a single, malevolent entity now known as The Whispering Shrouds.

This cataclysmic transformation erased all memory of their lives under the sun, replacing it with an unending, cold hatred for the living world. The Whispering Shrouds became driven by a singular, unfathomable goal: to serve the abyssal void that created them. They are instinctively drawn to sources of intense heat and light, especially fire, as it is the most potent reminder of the life they lost, compelling them to extinguish it with chilling, violent fury.

Sarran survivors who navigated a monster-filled illusory cavern system. Alongside other subterranean horrors like Shadow Stalkers, the memory-draining presence of a Whispering Shroud relentlessly pursued the group, forcing them to fight for survival alongside an unlikely ally.

This harrowing experience not only hardened the T. Sarran survivors but also ignited within them a fervent quest for vengeance against the subterranean horrors they encountered.
