The Creature is one of the malevolent entities known as Wraiths, spectral remnants born from mortals' ill-fated pursuit of power during Coia's Civil War. These individuals sought to harness the chaotic planar energies bleeding from the corrupted Bukhara Spire Gateways, but were instead consumed. Their souls were ripped from their bodies and twisted by raw negative energy, transforming them into bodiless, hateful spirits.

This particular entity was born a mortal on 14 August 0, an ancient time during the very heart of the Civil War. Its mortal life was short-lived, as it too delved into forbidden energies. On 11 November 0, its physical body perished, and its soul was irrevocably twisted, transforming it into the Wraith known as the Creature.

Now, it is a bitter, terrifying echo of Coia's war-torn past, driven by an insatiable hatred for all living things. The Creature, like others of its kind, haunts the ruins and shadowed places of Coia, especially near the sites of old gateways. It endlessly seeks to draw others into the same empty, lightless existence it is forced to endure.

Centuries later, on 01 November 1248, Coia continued to grapple with chaotic forces, as evidenced by The Battle of Highborne Summit. In this event, the Dragonbone Vanguard destroyed a demonic portal in Shadowfell, within a collapsing fortress. While this specific battle did not directly involve the Creature, it underscored the ongoing struggle against the very energies that created Wraiths.

Despite the passing of ages and the shifting political landscape, the Creature persists. Its current status is considered healthy, meaning it remains undiminished in its spectral form and unyielding malevolence.
