Little Bag of Sand

Unknown

For generations untold, the ancient Bukhara Spires, once grand structures, were eventually destroyed, their very essence ground into the fine sand of the quarries near Ironhold. Unknown to most, these pulverized remnants infused the common quarry sand with a secret and potent quality, making it surprisingly effective against extra-planar entities.

Over the centuries, miners working at the base of the Iron Mountain discovered the utility of this sand. They would carry small leather pouches filled with it as a simple, effective tool for blinding aggressive cavern creatures or extinguishing runaway torch fires. This practice became a deep-rooted tradition among the hardy folk.

More recently, a significant surge of Wild Magic emanated from deep within the Iron Mountain, fundamentally altering the sand's properties. The dust became subtly infused with chaotic magical energy, granting it new and peculiar capabilities. This infusion made the sand surprisingly effective at disrupting minor magical effects, a welcome if strange boon for the superstitious miners of Ironhold.

On 13 May 1, a specific unassuming leather pouch was crafted and filled with this now-magically-infused sand. This particular item now embodied both the ancient power of the destroyed Bukhara Spires and the newly awakened chaotic energy of the Wild Magic from the mountain.

Currently, this same pouch rests undisturbed within a miner's pack. It resides within a bustling tavern in Ironhold, its full, potent history and capabilities awaiting their next chapter.
