The tales of the gate's curse spread, imbuing it with an ominous legacy that began to shape the community’s perception of their once-proud entrance.
On April 1, 1248, a group of brave adventurers seeking a bounty from Lord Arris stumbled upon a goat-like creature that had been terrorizing the nearby area. Upon tracking it to its lair, they found themselves in a cave battle against formidable demons: including a Dretch, a Rutterkin, and a Bulezau. After fierce, challenging encounters, the band returned, bearing proof of their victory and the stories of their harrowing struggle.
However, their triumph did not come without consequence. Upon returning, they were met with a vision of a demon, issuing a dire threat of retaliation. This encounter served as a chilling reminder of the lingering dark forces tied to the very essence of the Mist Gate. Lord Arris was pleased with their efforts, rewarding them with gold and suggesting they seek out the Mage historian Yaldra Bretik for further insights.
