History

Cortus Labor Pits

The Cortus Labor Pits trace their origins to the aristocratic age on Meristine, when the planet was first discovered by the Red Sun Dominion. Initially established by the esteemed Blue Star Nobility—a family once pivotal to the Dominion’s galactic expansion—the pits were conceived as a display of power, efficiency, and architectural grandeur designed to impress visiting dignitaries. Guards were strategically positioned to enforce strict control, ensuring that both security and labor oversight were maintained in this meticulously crafted environment.

Over time, as the Dominion's hold on Meristine tightened, the pits transformed drastically from their ostentatious beginnings into a brutal labor facility. What was once a symbol of noble authority and statecraft has devolved into a stark representation of oppression and absolute control. Today, the legacy of the aristocratic intentions behind the Cortus Labor Pits is preserved only in concealed archives, zealously guarded against those who champion liberation, leaving behind just whispers of the once-glorious noble houses etched in stone and steel.
