Officially designated by the Red Sun Dominion, its primary purpose was to house ground transportation vehicles for patrols and operations, particularly for destinations not serviced by the planet's official tram system. Unbeknownst to most, its construction held a dark secret, having been built directly over a mass grave.
This solemn resting place contained the indigenous Meristinian leaders who had mounted a final, desperate resistance against the Dominion’s ruthless takeover. This grim fact was meticulously scrubbed from all official records and kept as a closely guarded secret by the Dominion.
During its operational years, the garage gained an unusual reputation. It experienced an exceptionally high turnover rate for personnel, and its logbooks became a convoluted mess of contradictory information. These inconsistencies shrewdly concealed the frequent use of its transport vehicles for a far more sinister purpose: the clandestine relocation of political prisoners to undocumented black sites across the planet.
On 16 January 4160, the garage’s dark chapter came to an abrupt and explosive end with the event known as The Meristine Ignition. Fugitives allied with local resistance launched a daring, two-pronged assault against the tyrannical Red Sun Dominion. This coordinated attack involved unleashing a bio-engineered insectoid swarm and the assassination of the Warden.
Crucially, with the direct assistance of Seren Dannis, the insurgents successfully detonated the Meristine Ignition. This catastrophic event destroyed the vital Plate Spaceport and, in doing so, ignited an osmium cache beneath it. The ensuing explosion obliterated the spaceport and everything in its vicinity, including the Plate Vehicle Bay, leaving a smoking crater where the buildings once stood.
The destruction crippled Dominion logistics and ignited a wider rebellion across Meristine, though it also sparked anarchy and promised brutal Dominion retaliation. The Plate Vehicle Bay is now entirely destroyed, a smoking crater remaining where it once stood, a grim monument to both its dark past and its violent end.
