History of Herd

Herd, founded on 24 March 34, is a vast tundra shaped by its harsh climate and the resilience of its remote communities. Established during the early days of Coia’s settlement, the region has seen little conflict due to its inhospitable conditions, allowing cities such as Bampoundge, Berham, and Norwick to flourish. These urban oases stand as testaments to the adaptability of their inhabitants, who blend traditional practices with a tenacious spirit to carve out a life in one of the most challenging environments.

Despite the challenging conditions, Herd’s cities became centers of culture and community. The isolated nature of these settlements fostered a unique way of life, preserving traditions that might have otherwise been lost in more tumultuous regions. This culture was tested during darker times, notably marked by the presence of dragons and magic, which altered the fabric of everyday life. One of the most significant sites from this era is the Emerald Sanctuary Dragon Lair near Charlow Lake, a relic of the past that reminds the residents of Herd of the trials they overcame.

As the years progressed, the legends of the dragons became intertwined with the identity of Herd, instilling a sense of mystery and reverence for the land. Many inhabitants believe that beneath the tundra's icy surface lie ancient secrets waiting to be unearthed. This belief adds layers to the cultural narrative of Herd, fulfilling a dual role of fostering intrigue while promoting caution about the hidden histories buried in the seemingly desolate landscape.

Today, Herd stands as a symbol of resilience and mystery in a world transformed by time. The communities of Bampoundge, Berham, and Norwick continue to thrive, their existence deeply rooted in the past yet forward-looking. The harsh beauty of the tundra, coupled with the historical legacies of dragons, magic, and hidden secrets, crafts a compelling tapestry of life that defines this remarkable region. The legacy of Herd serves as a reminder of the intertwined destinies of nature and humanity, shaping both identity and culture amidst challenging odds.
