The Axiom Node

Unknown

Before the suffocating grip of the Red Sun Dominion descended upon Kylos, the establishment now known as The Shop served a very different purpose. It was the Axiom Node, the esteemed Faculty Lounge for Applied Ethics at the Grand University. Here, professors gathered to engage in deep philosophical debates, dissecting the moral implications of the Great Inquiry over synthetic wine.

The serene academic environment was shattered when the Red Sun Dominion seized control of Kylos. Universities, once bastions of free thought, were ruthlessly converted into restricted research camps under the Dominion's oppressive regime. It was during this period of widespread upheaval that Professor Jaren Vex, a disgraced theoretical physicist, saw an opportunity.

Professor Vex cleverly managed to claim the deed to the former Axiom Node. He swiftly rebranded the location as a harmless antique tech repair shop, a mundane front designed to evade the Dominion's omnipresent surveillance. This new identity allowed him to quietly implement what he termed the Sanctuary Protocol.

Beneath the facade of fixing broken tablets and recovering corrupted family photos, The Shop houses its true, vital heart. It maintains one of the last active nodes of Kylos's original, uncensored quantum network, now functioning as a critical Black Market Terminal. This secretive hub is unruly, but absolutely essential for the oppressed intellectuals of the planet.

Access to this crucial terminal is gained through a hidden door, cunningly disguised as a server rack. This leads into a sterile, soundproof booth where anonymous transactions are conducted. All exchanges occur entirely via Encrypted Credit, with untraceable blockchain data stored securely on physical drives.

Through this clandestine network, scientists can acquire forbidden logic gates or discreetly sell leaked Dominion schematics. They can also purchase passage off-world, all without fear of detection by the Red Sun's omnipotent surveillance system. Today, The Shop continues to thrive, fulfilling its critical role, though it operates under a constant and pervasive paranoia.
