Born and raised in the bustling port city of Emberfield, Grallock was the only son of an esteemed merchant family. He was expected to learn the trade and carry on the family business, yet his heart was never in ledgers or manifests. Instead, it was captivated by the heroic tales of The Dragonbone Vanguard and the legends of Archmage Ariel's sacrifice. He spent his youth sneaking away from his tutors to explore the crumbling ruins that dotted the coastline, a testament to the devastation of the Shadow War. It was in these ruins he found his true calling: uncovering the lost and forgotten. He would bring his findings to The Veiled Reliquary, an old, sealed repository he had discovered a secret entrance to, treating it as his personal museum. His reckless delves often put him in peril, but just as often, he would emerge with an artifact that would inadvertently solve a townsfolk's problem, earning him a reputation as both a local hero and a dangerous nuisance. This reputation, and his fascination with magic, was nurtured by his friends at The Emberfield Academy of Arcane Arts, who saw his raw talent. Now, with the return of a twisted, undead Ariel Bannister and the corruption of the Academy itself, Grallock finds his home transformed into a nightmare. He sees the chaos not just as a threat, but as an opportunity to prove his heroic worth and to finally claim the powerful artifacts from within the Academy that he believes are the key to saving everyone.
