The region of Chichingia, once the heartland of the immensely powerful and sinister House of Silk, is a land steeped in a history of oppression and dark magic. Its coastal plains, once teeming with enslaved laborers and opulent manor houses, fell into an eerie tranquility after the House of Silk's brutal downfall nearly 800 years ago. The swift collapse of their empire left behind a landscape littered with ghost-haunted ruins and unspeakable secrets buried beneath the soil. For centuries, Chichingia has been a place of ominous legends, a cursed land that few dared to explore.

However, this quiet was a fragile facade, concealing a far darker legacy. Unbeknownst to most, the House of Silk were the primary financiers of the arch sorcerer Ursula Nachthex's research into chaos magic at Weaver's Den. Her catastrophic experiments, aimed at creating a magical means to control the minds of their slaves, failed terribly. Instead, they unleashed a wave of subtle, corrupting energy that saturated the land itself.

Centuries ago, a small band of heroes, sent by the Unchained, discovered the immediate aftermath of a mutiny at the Weaver's Den. They learned Ursula Nachthex's own followers, fearing her increasingly dangerous experiments, had turned on her. Sacrificing their own lives, they managed to imprison her beneath the Den, where she slowly transformed into a lich in her magical prison.

Much later, on 23 July 310, a new party, guided by Seraphina Stormwind, sought The Finger of Kaejor at the ancient Weaver's Den. Amidst their exploration, they discovered the remnants of a fierce battle, with the bodies of Ursula's followers scattered throughout. Here, they encountered Viremon, a thirteen-year-old former test subject, left ageless and non-corporeal by Ursula's magic and tethered to the Den.

Viremon warned the party of several trapped rooms and an evil lurking in the basement, likely warped by the chaotic magic that once permeated Ursula's experiments. The party soon discovered the full story: Ursula's followers had turned on her, believing her experiments were becoming too dangerous. They sacrificed their own lives to trap her beneath the den, where she slowly transformed into a lich.

Discovering this, the party finally put an end to what was left of Ursula and her ambitions of immortality, or so they thought. Despite these heroics, the land remains eerily tranquil, a fragile peace overlaying an insidious threat. The ancient, profane magic unleashed by Ursula's catastrophic research is now slowly awakening. This creeping, unnatural blight is beginning to corrupt the land and its creatures, promising to engulf Chichingia in a new era of darkness.
