Backstory

Eorhear was once a promising scholar who hailed from a long-established family in Milboliton. However, the avarice of the merchant class in Coia and the unending turmoil rooted in the civil wars kindled a disillusionment within him. Abandoning his scholarly pursuits, he became a tax collector in Milboliton—a role that earned him much infamy amongst the citizens who were already chafed under the burdens of tax and chaos. Though all outward signs pointed to a life anchored in cynicism, his more sinister reason for choosing this profession was to craft elaborate cons and scams, extracting more than just legally due taxes from the beleaguered townsfolk. His inglorious end came on a starless night when one of his cons was exposed, leading to a mob confrontation. His body was found days later, washed ashore near the city's outskirts. His untimely death left questions unanswered and conspiracies floating like phantom clouds over Milboliton.
