Backstory

Brother Theron was raised in a small monastery on the Outskirts of Emberfield, his life guided by simple truths and the heroic tale of Archmage Ariel's sacrifice. He believed in the strength of faith and the goodness of his community. For years, he served as a laborer, his physical work a form of prayer, his hands calloused from mending walls and tending fields.

However, when the magical seal on Stonewatch Island shattered, the foundation of his world cracked with it. The return of Ariel, not as a martyr but as a vengeful lich, was a theological crisis he could not reconcile. The stories he was raised on felt like hollow bells, ringing with beautiful notes that signified nothing. As blights and undead horrors began to plague the farmlands he once tended, his faith corroded like iron in the mist. Each person he couldn't protect, each crop that withered unnaturally, became another headstone in a private graveyard of his failures.

He has since left the monastery, though he still wears the simple robes, seeking a new truth and a tangible way to protect the people his faith could not.

Description

A tall, broad-shouldered man whose physique speaks more of years of hard labor than monastic discipline. Brother Theron has a kind, weathered face with deep-set, compassionate eyes that hold a profound sadness, like hollow, silent bells. His dark hair is cut short and flecked with premature grey, and a subtle, rust-colored tint shows in his close-cropped beard. He moves with a quiet, deliberate grace, his hands calloused and scarred. He wears the simple, earth-toned, and slightly worn robes of his former order, practical and unadorned, over which he sometimes wears a leather work apron.
