Sorev - Details
Occupation
Priest of the Luminaries
Archetype (i.e. Class)
Cleric
Backstory
Sorev was once a Prefect in the ordered society of Mechanus, tasked with overseeing the very conduits that channeled
Seraphel's divine energy. He was present during the cataclysm of her escape; a moment of chaos that shattered his world's perfect logic. In the critical instant, faced with the surge of raw, divine power, Sorev froze. He failed to act, allowing the 'goddess' to flee and condemning his home plane to a slow decay. Wracked with a shame so profound it feels like a physical ailment, Sorev joined the
Luminaries' exodus to Coia. He became a priest, not out of fervent faith, but as a form of self-flagellation. He now preaches the doctrine of the divine sacrifice of
Seraphel, a lie that tastes like ash in his mouth, all while desperately hoping he never finds the being whose freedom is the source of his eternal guilt.
Description
Sorev is a gaunt elf with pale skin and sharp, sorrowful features. His head is completely bald. His eyes, a startlingly light grey, are perpetually downcast, avoiding direct contact. He wears the vestments of a Luminary priest over a suit of visibly worn, but meticulously maintained, chainmail. Every movement is deliberate and heavy, as if he carries the weight of his lost home on his shoulders. A single, stylized cog, the symbol of Mechanus, is branded onto the back of his right hand - the mark of his oath.
