Rueside: From Glory to Shadows

Founded on August 18, 17, Rueside emerged as the wealthiest and most powerful port city in Coia. The city prospered thanks to its protected harbor, facilitating trade routes and drawing the attention of a ruthless aristocratic council that tightly controlled both commerce and political powers. This dominance allowed Rueside to thrive for centuries, positioning it as a central hub in the region. However, the tides of change began when the abolition of the slave trade in Chichingia nearly 700 years ago marked a significant decline in the city's economic stability.

Over the years, Rueside became overshadowed by its once-great legacy, falling into disrepair. Crime rates soared as the community grappled with poverty and exploitation, leaving Rueside struggling to maintain any semblance of its former glory. Despite its rich history, the city became a symbol of decay and mismanagement, with its citizens trapped in a cycle of desperation. Without substantial reforms or revitalization efforts, the decline of Rueside continued, and it turned into a barren echo of its past splendor.

In the midst of this fading legacy, events in the year 310 would further embroil the city's complex narrative. From June 9 to 10, the Dragonbone Vanguard, a group weighed down by their previous misdeeds against unarmed goblins, returned to Rueside after a time-traveling journey. They attempted to make amends by intervening during a violent clash at a farmhouse, mistaking their target — the Unchained, a group dedicated to slave liberation — for oppressors. Upon realizing their error, the Vanguard redirected their violent tendencies towards the farmer, resulting in a grim retribution that ended with the burning of the farmhouse to conceal their actions.

As July rolled in, tensions continued to mount in Rueside. An assassination plot against a prominent figure named Andre was unveiled, introducing further turmoil to the already fragmented atmosphere of the city. A member of the party, Borin, underwent a bizarre transformation into a mouse and was handed over to Tiammen. Eventually, this group, navigating through deception, managed to evade guards with clever tactics on their sea journey and sought out Carmine Calim in hopes of accessing the enigmatic Hidden Relic Chapel. Each of these chaotic encounters continued to draw the city deeper into an unpredictable future, where hope remained elusive amid the shadows of Rueside's decline.
