The Hangman’s Relic

The Hangman’s Relic is an unassuming rope with a haunting legacy, originating from the blood-soaked grounds of Coia, where countless souls met their demise at the noose. Historically, it served as a grim tool during the violent civil unrest that followed the corruption of the Bukhara Spire Gateways, executing some of the realm’s most notorious traitors. With each life it claimed, the rope absorbed the anguish and magic of the executed, becoming a conduit for restless spirits and merciless fury.

As the years passed, the relic transformed into more than just a common object; it became a vessel of wild magic, entwined with the curses and malevolence of those it had slain. Its legend grew, whispering tales of vengeful shadows and supernatural power, drawing the curious and the ambitious alike. Now, in modern times, the relic was rediscovered during a perilous escape from slavers, seized by the infamous rogue known as Dig the Weird.

Dig hopes to harness the relic's latent powers, believing it will provide him with protection against his relentless pursuers. However, he remains blissfully unaware of the malevolent presence that dwells within the rope's fibers. Instead of merely seeking freedom, the Hangman's Relic reveals its sinister intentions, eager to reclaim its role in executing vengeance and sowing chaos for its own dark purposes. In the battle between Dig's survival and the relic's thirst for blood, an ominous clash of wills looms on the horizon.
