The Harrowed Fields was once a prosperous farmstead nestled just outside the protective walls of Emberfield. Its name, however, changed dramatically during the devastating Shadow War. The Blackwood family, original owners of the land, erected formidable Wrought Iron Fences, rumored to be enchanted, to shield their property from the encroaching horrors of the conflict.

While these powerful fences successfully held back the direct assault, the land itself was subtly poisoned by the lingering conflict. Over generations, the Blackwood family dwindled and eventually vanished, leaving the once-thriving farm to slowly succumb to Cobwebs and Rot, becoming a forgotten, blighted place.

Now, with the ominous return of the lich Ariel, the dormant corruption within the soil has violently reawakened. This malevolent influence has twisted the land into a place of active malice and blight. The ancient Wrought Iron Fences, once guardians against the dark, no longer keep it out; instead, they now seem to be ominously keeping the pervasive evil within.
