Decades ago, a significant shift occurred when Meklen Theistad, the current owner, retreated deep into the bedrock beneath the estate. There, he began the forbidden work of establishing the Blood Forge. To mask the industrial thunder of his subterranean smithing and deter the prying eyes of the House of Silk, Meklen strategically abandoned the opulent upper halls to the public.

Since this abandonment, the surface structure has undergone a bizarre metamorphosis, transforming into a chaotic bohemian commune. It became a true "Melting Pot," where the disenfranchised, the artistic, and the outcasts of the Unruly Market found sanctuary. Meklen tolerates this squatting population, viewing their raucous debates and drunken revelry as perfect living camouflage for his arcane metallurgy below.

Within the estate, Meklen's specific insanities are evident. He silenced every service bell, tearing out their tongues so he would never again be summoned by a servant.
