On 19 June 697, the Basilica was formally founded in Tetbury. Constructed during the city's Golden Age, it served as a grand sanctuary dedicated to the Gods of Order and Civilization. Its initial purpose was to stand as a powerful beacon of stability and spiritual solace for the populace.

However, as Lord Mangdaor Roth gradually consolidated his tyrannical rule over Tetbury, the sacred nature of the Basilica began to erode. It was slowly but surely commandeered by The Lord's Shield, Roth's enforcement arm. While outwardly maintaining the facade of a revered monastery where the city's elite would pray for protection, it effectively became the clandestine headquarters for Roth's oppressive regime.

By May 1248, significant events began to shape the Basilica's darker evolution. Following the Dragonbone Vanguard's successful cleansing of "The Shitter," the city's extensive sewer system, The Lord's Shield saw an opportunity. They secretly began boring tunnels, connecting the Basilica's deep dungeons directly to the subterranean labyrinth.

These hidden passages allowed the regime to traffic prisoners and dispose of bodies without traversing the city streets, avoiding public scrutiny. The Basilica now serves as the primary processing center where the populace is subjected to a chilling form of indoctrination. Here, citizens are converted into the Cult of Velsharoon, a belief system viewing Death as merely a transition to a perfect, eternal order.

Currently, the location operates under a strict militarized lockdown. Its once-hallowed halls are now dedicated entirely to the occult indoctrination of Tetbury's citizens, a stark testament to Roth's enduring tyranny. The Basilica, once a symbol of order, has become an instrument of control and fear.
