To the citizens of Coia, Ogecchi Okafo is a dry, overly bureaucratic scholar who manages the Heritage Biblioteca with an iron grip on silence and organization. He is viewed as a man who cares more for the spine integrity of a book than for human conversation.
In truth, Ogecchi is a jailer. He is the latest descendant of the Okafo line, a family tracing its roots to a slave who led an insurrection against the House of Silk centuries ago. While his ancestor fought for physical freedom, the family eventually realized that the House of Silk left behind something far more dangerous than shackles: the chaotic research of Ursula Nachthex.
For generations, the Okafos have maintained the Biblioteca not as a museum, but as a containment facility. Ogecchi’s life has been consumed by the 'Unbroken Vow,' a family oath to ensure the blueprints of the corrupted Spire Gateways and the formulas of chaos magic never see the light of day. However, the task has become a nightmare. The crystalline spire buried deep beneath the library foundation has begun to resonate. Ogecchi has discovered that the ink in the sealed tomes is moving on its own, rewriting history and casting spells simply by existing. He is no longer just guarding a library; he is fighting a silent war against paper and ink that wants to scream.
