The Scrimshaw Enclave, nestled within the protected ossified shell of Hasaldon, represents the apex of the city's twisted aristocracy. Its origins trace back to the tumultuous period following The Great Harvest, which occurred between 97 and 104 CR. In the wake of this devastating event, opportunistic scavenger lords known as Bone Barons rose to power, monopolizing the vital collection of dragon bones essential for Hasaldon's defensive walls.

Driven by a desperate desire to emulate the pre-Civil War era nobility, these anarchic warlords established The Scrimshaw Enclave shortly after 104 CR. They ruthlessly raided the ruins of the Bukhara Spire, commerce hubs, dragging back tons of ornate wrought iron fencing to aggressively demarcate their newly claimed territories. Within these branded borders, a fiercely tribalist culture quickly solidified, where ownership was paramount and defined by intricate interlocking monograms etched onto every cobblestone, gate, and even the foreheads of indentured servants.

Life in the Enclave is characterized by a state of perfumed denial. Residents meticulously drown out the pervasive stench from the surrounding bone rendering vats and the unsettling rot of their own necromantic experiments. This is achieved through the constant application of gallons of cloying floral scents, imported at immense cost, creating an illusion of opulent purity.

A significant shift in the Enclave's demeanor occurred in 1248 CR with the catastrophic destruction of the Herthe Gateway. This event plunged the district into an era of heightened xenophobia, resulting in an immediate and strict ban on entry for anyone from The Vitric Ward. To solidify their isolation, the Bone Barons reinforced their formidable wrought iron gates with powerful magical wards, grimly fueled by collected marrow.

Today, The Scrimshaw Enclave stands as a thriving, yet deeply paranoid, bastion of its unique and unsettling aristocracy. Its inhabitants cling fiercely to their traditions and their perfumed denial, ever wary of external threats and fiercely protective of their branded domains.
